## What Firm AEO does

- Answer engine optimization (AEO), also called generative engine optimization (GEO) or AI SEO, for law firms: making the firm and its attorneys the names AI assistants return for real client questions in the firm's practice area and market.
- Measurement: each tracked question is run repeatedly every month across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews (Claude, Gemini and Copilot also captured), from clean sessions with the location set to the market, and every run is logged whether or not the firm was named. The reported number is the appearance rate. Firm AEO does not report a "rank" in ChatGPT because none exists.
